F5 Acopia FreedomFabric Network Manager
The FreedomFabric Network Manager is a centralized platform that uses innovative wizards and robust auto-discovery to dramatically simplify the configuration, deployment and management of the award-winning F5 Acopia ARX® Series devices. With the FreedomFabric Network Manager, you’ll begin realizing the tremendous benefits of file virtualization – and calculating ROI – more quickly than ever before.
The FreedomFabric Network Manager will:
- Speed deployment of F5 Acopia file virtualization technology
- Auto-discover key information in a NAS environment
- Automatically generate virtualization configuration specifications
- Eliminate deployment errors
- Reduce virtualization implementation planning time
Centralized Administration
A wizard-driven GUI tool, the FreedomFabric Network Manager auto-discovers key attributes about the NAS environment that are pertinent to an Acopia ARX configuration, such as volumes, shares, exports, security settings, file system settings, and more.
Using the discovered information, the FreedomFabric Network Manager automatically generates a configuration file for an ARX switch to virtualize the NAS environment. This process provides a simplified, standard workflow that eliminates errors and significantly reduces virtualization deployment time. Certain elements of the configuration can be customized to meet your company’s unique requirements.
Simplified Management
After the configuration is loaded into an ARX switch, the NAS environment is virtualized, allowing you to effectively manage unstructured file data without disrupting systems, applications or users. The FreedomFabric Network Manager even generates file server inventory reports summarizing file server configuration for your records.
The FreedomFabric Network Manager is an extensible storage management platform that is designed to manage heterogeneous NAS environments. In future releases, the FreedomFabric Network Manager will provide a host of additional management and monitoring services for the file storage infrastructure, including file system reporting, performance monitoring, historical reporting and trending, and capacity planning.
